it is natural. Human beings have different understandings and the same goes for the companions. There are many instances.

There were differences of opinion among them on the permissibility of doing Masah on socks, the waiting period, iddat of a pregnant widow, and whether she would observe the iddat of a dead husband or of pregnancy, they were different in their understanding of the law of inheritance, Hazrat Umar narrated that deads are tortured for the mourning and wailing of their relatives and Hazrat Ayesha corrected him. Hazrat Ayesha is known for her scholarly criticism of the misunderstandings of the companions.

However, it does not affect the fact that they preserved the content of Deen immaculately and transferred it to the next generations.

You can also refer to the following video for comparative study of one of the major differences of opinion between two Jurist Sahaba Abdullah Ibn-e-Abbas (rta) and Abdullah Ibn-e-Masud (rta) regarding interpretation of “illa ma zahra minha” (اِلَّا مَا ظَہَرَ مِنۡہَا) in Quran 24:31.
