Sahih Al-Bukhari 631 – Offering Prayer Without Rafa Ul-Yadain
Asselamu aleykum,
Ustad-e-Mohtaram (ha) have said that our Namaz is valid if we leave Rafa ul-Yadain. Because, very major parts of Namaz are on our choice, and Rafa ul-Yadain is one of them.
But, If we look at the traditions, we find that our Holy Prophet (sav) usually used to offer Namaz with Rafa ul-Yadain. And, the only tradition which is attributed to Hadhrat Abdullah ibn Masud (rta), claiming that Prophet (sav) also used to pray without Rafa ul-Yadain is considered weak. Also our Holy Prophet (sav) is reported to have said that “Pray as you have seen me praying.” (Sahih al-Bukhari 631)
Then, how we can say that our Salah will be valid even if we pray without Rafa ul-Yadain? Kindly clarify this, in the light of Qur’an and Sunnah.
