These are more of cultural traditions in our part of the world which prohibit or discourage young men and women from meeting each other, which is not healthy. This also results in a high ratio of cousin or inter-family marriages due to lack of exposure of young people, many of who end up having little to no social contacts for selecting a spouse for marriage. It is a well-known scientific fact that cousin marriages are not healthy for off-spring, and should be discouraged.
However, as pointed out by Dr Irfan sahab, there shouldn’t be any lying, and obscenity while engaging with the person of other gender. Quranic code of conduct should be followed at all times which includes no lewd talk and complete safeguarding of sight.
