    In Islam, the only tax is Zakat. You may need to learn the rules and regulations of Zakat, including Ushar and Zakat on cattle. The modern tax system serves a purpose of Zakat: collection and distribution.

    Of course not. A thing is forbidden only when there is something morally and ethically objectionable, otherwise, everything is allowed.

    What about islam forbidding tax?

    The limit of tax is prescribed with the rate of zakat. A government of Muslims cannot impose taxes more than that except with the consent of the people. Unjust taxation is not allowed. Taxes on haram income like gambling or pornography are not allowed.
