Can Thoughts Also Be Counted Towards Sin?
Salam Alaikum,
Growing up I always thought and believed that making bad/evil intentions does not add to the scale of sins of a person and that it is only when one implements those bad things in thought (verbally or physically) that it is added to sin.
However recently saw a Q&A with Dr. Shehzad Saleem in which he said we are also accountable for our thoughts. So my question is that does that mean that even dwelling on particular thoughts can add to deeds?
For example what if one person was to think about funny perhaps nonsensical things (gibberish words which sounds funny or any other silly things) which are of benefit in the sense that they provide stress to the thinker or perhaps a vulgur of dark joke which one thinks about over and over again and finds humourous but does not tell to anyone and keeps only to himself? Plz educate me on this matter.
