If a temporary speech defect leads to pronunciation mistakes, I am assuming you can ignore them and continue your prayer.

However, if you can pronounce correctly by reciting slower than normal or by repeating once or twice, is the ease still there that we can ignore the mistakes?

The companions never insisted that the new converts of the foreign lands pronounce the Arabic words with Arabic accent and pronunciation. It is usually not possible for all people to adopt a foreign accent and pronunciation as we see in the case of the English language too. More than one accent and pronunciation are acceptable. The same goes for Arabic words. One should not insist on it, however, correct pronunciation is appreciated.
