I watched this video of Javed Ghamidi Sahb, he said there is no punishment for homosexuality

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Oefc0_3uwRA

But there are many narrations that say punishment for homosexuality is death

Narrated Abdullah ibn Abbas: The Prophet (ﷺ) said: If you find anyone doing as Lot’s people did, kill the one who does it, and the one to whom it is done.

Abu Dawud said: A similar tradition has also been transmitted by Sulaiman b. Bilal from ‘Amr b. Abi ‘Umar. And ‘Abbad b. Mansur transmitted it from ‘Ikrimah on the authority of Ibn ‘Abbas who transmitted it from the Prophet (ﷺ). It has also been transmitted by Ibn Juraij from Ibrahim from Dawud b. Al-Husain from ‘Ikrimah on the authority of Ibn ‘Abbas who transmitted it from the Prophet (ﷺ).

    Narrated Abdullah ibn Abbas:

If a man who is not married is seized committing sodomy, he will be stoned to death.

Abu Dawud said: The tradition of ‘Asim proved the tradition of ‘Amir b. Abi ‘Amr as weak.

It was narrated from IbnAbbas that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said:“Whoever you find doing the action of the people of Lut, kill the one who does it, and the one to whom it is done.”Source: Sunan Ibn Majah 2561Source: Jami at-Tirmidhi 1456

It was narrated from Abu Hurairah that the Prophet (ﷺ) said concerning those who do the action of the people of Lut:

“Stone the upper and the lower, stone them both.”

    Source: Sunan Ibn Majah 2562

    Narrated Jabir:

That the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: “What I fear most from my Ummah is the behavior of the people of Lut.”

    Source: Jami` at-Tirmidhi 1457

Malik related to me that he asked Ibn Shihab about someone who committed sodomy. Ibn Shihab said, “He is to be stoned, whether or not he is muhsan.”

What is Ghamidi Sahb’s stance on these narrations?

All divinely prescribed punishments are clearly mentioned in Quran, and specific punishment for homosexuality is not prescribed by God. Please see verse 4:16, which covers homosexual acts:

4:16 If the two of you men spread such immorality or lewdness in the society, punish both of them. But if they repent and mend their ways, leave them alone. God is the Acceptor of repentance, Merciful.

The pronoun used in the verse is الذان which covers a man and woman as well as two men. The word translated as “punishment” here is اذی which means to harm, hurt, trouble or torture. Since any specific punishment is not recommended here, it is upto the legislature to recommend or suggest appropriate punishment for homosexual acts.
