Assalam O alaikum ustaad E mohtram Hope you’re in good health

As per my knowledge, correct me if I’m wring in the quote

    Quran states , tarjuma

“their affairs are based on consultation among them”

Keeping the above in mind is it okay to say that islam says to elect your representative via democracy if yes ? How can one guarantee someone as pious person and if not what should be the process of selecting someone as the head of a state ?

    Thankyou,

    Regards,

Democracy in principle is an application of the directive of the Quran you cited above. So it is people’s choice whoever they would like to choose. They can only be advised and suggested to choose the one for the best of their interest and if they find him or her not following the law, they should make him accountable. Idealism does not work here.
