Hadid – 22-23, Taqdeer?
• Dr. Mustafa Khattab:
No calamity ˹or blessing˺ occurs on earth or in yourselves without being ˹written˺ in a Record before We bring it into being. This is certainly easy for Allah.
Al-Ḥadīd, Ayah 22
• Dr. Mustafa Khattab:
˹We let you know this˺ so that you neither grieve over what you have missed nor boast over what He has granted you. For Allah does not like whoever is arrogant, boastful—
Al-Ḥadīd, Ayah 23
It appears from these verses that Allah wants to tell us that there are things that are written already that you don’t have any control over so that you don’t get sad for what you lose or boast about what you gain, in short none of it was your doing.
How to understand it with respect to the conditional definition of taqdeer by Ghamidi Sb, if I will open the shop I will get 10 rupees. While Allah tells that so you don’t get sad for what you lost (because you didn’t open the shop)?
