Interesting question. I will add my feeling about it as well. Seems like quite few things can come into consideration here. Can meme be considered, basically a mock? And should be avoided at all times? What if it is based on factual understanding? And are done for highlighting current issues? Now ofcourse there is a possibility of human biasness, so can that be considered as “gheebath”? What if I am not aware of my biasness but I consider doing it actually as a mater of service to society? And also a way of lightmood disagreement to something. I am not sure if it can be easily brushed as “gheebat” , because then we stop the way to progress our creative sense as well.

I think we should better understand “gheebat” first in concept.

It depends on how the person on whom the meme is made would feel about it, if it is something that degrades him or makes fun of any aspect of his life then of course we’d not do it in front of him, so I guess that will make it gheebat.

How is “gheebath” defined in concept from the Islamic or quranic view?
