The explanation of Surah Maida in Al Bayan by Ustaz Ghamidi Sahab states that, just like the law of Itmam e Hujjat, an appointed Rasool (peace be upon him) automatically gets the authority to clear a dedicated and choosen land of Allah from all non believers. He mentions that this authority is not justified for for common masses and their governments and is only specific to a Rasool.

This explanation seems contradictory to the response that Ustaz recorded on the creation of Mandir in Abu Dhabi, where ustaz gave the verdict that it is duty of entire umma till qyamat to keep the land clear of non -Muslims. Isn’t Israel doing same in Palestine, i.e. to get rid of non-believers (of their faith) and to ethnically clean their holy land?

Expelling a human being from a land because of one’s faith is against all basic human rights and the Quranic principle of “no compulsion in religion.”

Without establishing a dominant Islamic state in the world with capital in Jazeera Numa Arab, the duty of protecting the holy land from non-muslim residents cannot be fulfilled. This also goes against ustaz’s narrative that Islam does not make it mandatory on the Muslims to strive for a government let alone a dominant world government. As he mentions by anology of Zakat that it is not mandatory until you are rich enough.

How he reconciles his verdict on Mandir as duty to protect holy land with his overall understanding of Itmam e Hujjat and his political support for democracy and virtues personal human freedom.

Different things are confused here. I try to separate them to make it clear.

To declare a piece of land holy and exclusive to God to establish a center for Tawheed is a prerogative of God which He manifests through a prophet, no one else has the authority to declare any piece of land holy on behalf of God.

Once a land is declared holy, it is, now, the duty of every believer to try to protect it and keep its status intact. This duty comes into play only when there are Muslims in power. If they are not in power, they are not obliged to protect it.

Since this verdict of expulsion of the non-Muslims comes from God, therefore, the common law of morality does not apply here. God has authority to make a piece of land exclusive to Him. However, we know from the history of Bani Israel in the Bible and of the Prophet Muhammad and after him in the history of his companions that these non-Muslims were expelled after Itmam ul Hujjah, and due to their mischievous behaviour.

The Jews think about their holy place, Jerusalem the same. However, they do not expel officially, those who do not believe in their beliefs. A good number of Muslims are living in Israel. However, the war erupted for other reasons.

Thanks for the reply. Muslims are no longer in power after WW2 as the world is run by victors of the war. Their government in the holy place is a part of international treaties.

Please explain the statement of Ustad e muhtaram where he categorically mentions that only a Rasool (peace be upon him) has authority of expulsion. Ustad has clearly mentioned that common masses or their governments are not allowed to expell anyone from a holy land.

Although a holy land is selected by Allah but act of expulsion is also restricted to Rasools.

Now that Rasools have stopped coming, how this authority shifts to common believers? How we can justify expelling a person from Hijaz, if he/she leaves religion, to the modern world which does not accepts discrimination on the basis of religion.

The rulers of Hijaz have to follow the verdict of the prophet. They need to do it on the command of the prophet. Hazrat Umar was the first who acred upon this verdict of the prophet and now every ruler of this land has to follow the the same as his religious duty. It is not his initiative but his duty imposed on him by Deen.
