I was rewatching Ghamidi sahib’s Mahdi series. In it he references Sahih Muslim’s hadith 2913. But wherever I’ve looked it up online, the end of the hadith has:

“I said to Abu Nadra and Abu al-‘Ala: Do you mean ‘Umar b. ‘Abd al-Aziz? They said: No”

Not only does Ghamidi sahib not mention this when he is translating it in Urdu, this is a much bigger and major problem because it directly contradicts his opinion that these hadith in Bukhari and Muslim are about Umar bin Abdul Aziz RA. I’ve been deeply conflicted since reading this hadith from multiple sources. How is this reconciled with Ghamidi sahib’s opinion that these hadith fit perfectly on Umar bin Abdul Aziz, when in the opinion of Abu Nadra himself, it is not Umar bin Abdul Aziz.

Ghamidi Sahab has changed his opinion on this already.

He believes Al-Mehdi was Muawiyah, not Umar bin Abdul Aziz anymore.

There is a link given in the discussion but I think it’s broken.

Dr. Irfan also talked about Ghamidi Sahab giving his opinion in Ali and Muawiyah video in same discussion but that series has 20 parts so I don’t know which one has his opinion.
