It is about feelings which you cannot control. However this is unnatural And it deprives one to be grateful to God for the good things one receives in life. Gratefulness is the first step to recognize God.

there are innumerable good things in and around us to make us grateful to God. Good things cause happiness and gratefulness. if one vows not to be happy has to ignore the blessings of God. This causes ungratefulness and thus leads to kufr because he or she cannot think good of God.
