    Salam alaikum,

Just watched a video of this ex-muslim atheist claiming how surah Fussilat contradicts now know science about the world.

According to that guy Allah First 1) created the earth 2) then placed mountains on top 3) provided provisions for living beings 4) then created the sky.

His main objections I remember were 1) placing mountains is wrong as they were not placed but were formed from the earth with tectonic plates colliding and rising up 2) we all know that the sky/heaven/space came before the earth.

I’m guessing that chronological creation is not the point of this verse and neither does it mean it those ways literally. What is the true meaning/message of Ayahs 41:9-12 then?

The Qur’an is not in scientific jorgan but in a literary style, the way we use language like the sun rises in rhr east and sets in rhr west, however, scientifically there is no happening like this.

Such kinds of objection comes from sheer ignorance.

Main standpoint of science and philosophy in doubting existence of God has been “eternal universe” supposition i.e. it has no beginning and no end.

Formulation of Big Bang theory and discovery of expanding/accelerating universe by 1970s should have put some fear of Allah in hearts of those who use science as argument against existence and sustenance of universe by Allah’s will.

After scientific progress from 1970 to 2022, atheism stands merely on the basis of historic political conflict between Church and social/political movements of 16th – 18th centuries AD.
