I am confused about this ayat #4 of Surah Talaq .

Translation: Those in menopause among your women, for them the Iddah, if you have doubt, is three months; and for those who have no courses. And for those who are pregnant, theirIddah is until they lay down their burden; and whosoever has Taqwa of Allah, He will make his matter easy for him.

I want to ask about the women who don’t have menstrual courses . I have read several interpretations which states these are those women who are underaged . Which means Islam allows to marry an underaged girl and have intercourse with them . Can you please guide me what is meant here with references from the Holy Quran and Sunnah?

    Jazakallah khairan

The word do not suggest these are underage girls. The word clearly mention that the WOMAN who did have their menstrual cycle, their iddat is three months. These are the women who despite their age for some reason do not have courses.

Our mufassirin mistook it while the word are clearly suggesting otherwise.

How can we be sure that your interpretation is right and for example, Mododi is wrong? If mufasireen can be wrong and majority can be wrong then who’s fault is it? Why Allah talks in such a way? It’s a serious matter and because of this thousands of child marraiges happened in Saudi till 2019 legally. And then Ghamidi sir say , ” mamoli ikhtilafaat” hain.

And how on earth is Mododi considered a top scholar by Ghamidi sir when in his tafseer he said marriage of prepubescent girls is fine?
