Breastfeeding Infant For More Than 2 Years
Asalam al aikum
My question is is it permissable to breastfeed the infant for more than 2 years ?
People use the reference of Quran 2:233 and say it is sinful to breastfeed for more than 2 years . Based on my understanding, 2:233 is referring to divorced parents .

2 years is mentioned as a general practice, which is delineated as a minimum period to decide how long a husband should bear the expenditure of the feeding mother of his child.
It is not obligatory to limit to 2 years. There is no mention of sin there. It can’t be sin by the way. There is nothing sinful in it.
One may decide when it is better to stop feeding the child.
