Recently I saw Ghamidi sb saying owning and keeping idols of different religion without polytheistic views are okay. Even though he also said it should be avoided as sadd al dharia for kids. Now the question is according to ahadith it is forbidden to keep such things at house(Bukhari:2107). Angels don’t come at such house and it is also mentioned in hadith that prophet pbuh used to destroy any cross at his house(Bukhari:5952). How do we reconcile it. And if possible also answer whether keeping such thing and creating such are different issues or not? If not done in polytheistic belief.

All the traces of idols from the land of Hijaz were ordained to be removed. No temple was left standing in Hijaz. However, this is not the case with other lands. However, Muslims are supposed to avoid having and keeping anything of polytheism.

If so, is the matter of angels not entering house with such idols also not applicable in our time if not done with such view? and also is keeping such thing and creating such are different issues or not? If not done in polytheistic belief.

Some angels do not like to enter a house where there is a picture of idols. This is not about all the angels.

The one who make or keep them without polytheistic belief is not doing actual sin but it is not recommended.
