If a person gives food with the belief that they are giving it on the behalf of the other person who may be deceased or not so that he may get rewards would it be permissible to eat.

Yes, permissible to eat as long as it is not given in any name other than Allah.

But aren’t khatam bidah in Islam? Then why would eating it’s food be permissible.

And kindly can you explain how can we differentiate or what acts differentiates the fact that the food is not given for other than Allah because when someone gives it for “isalei sawab” aren’t they giving it for that person specifically and not for Allah?

Giving in the name means it is to please someone. If one gives food so that its sawab may be transferred to the deceased, it is bidat, and food is haram. However, if a man arranges a meeting to transfer sawab (Which is bidat), but the food he gives is just to honour his guests, then the food is halal.

Giving food because of some happiness or celebration about something would it be fine? If so why? Because if in Islam it is to refrain having any similarity in something which is specifically for Allah… Then why would it not be prohibited to give when someone achieves something because in this case isn’t the person pleasing himself by giving away food?
