In today’s world if someone living in islamic country run according to Islamic sharia…and he call himself kafir…can government can announce punishment on him like death punishment.

Here person is deliberately saying he is kafir…so according to ghamidi sabh what I know this person can be label as kafir…can government can give punishment to this type of person
nowadays when no prophet is present?
As per my knowledge person who is kafir can only be given punishment in presence of prophet nowadays no prophet is present so no punishment can be given even a person deliberately claims himself that he is kafir.

Kafir means to deny a truth deliberately after one has realised that it is true.
There can be hardly any person who may declare that he is a denier of truth. Still, there is a person like that, he will not be punished. To punish him is the prerogative of God. In the time of the prophet, God announces their punishment. Now we have no medium to know if God wants to punish them or not and we can’t act on His behalf.
