Guidance On Embryo Adoption In Our Situation
Assalamu Alaikum Ghamidi Sahab,
I pray this message finds you in good health.
My husband and I have been married for over 10 years and remain childless despite trying. I am now 42 years old and my husband is 40. We have been undergoing medical treatment and attempted two IVF cycles. Due to severe male infertility and my age, our egg quality and sperm quality are both affected. In our last cycle, we were able to produce only one embryo, but PGT-A testing showed it was abnormal (missing a chromosome) and therefore not viable.
Given our circumstances, we are seeking your guidance on whether embryo adoption would be permissible in Islam for us. We understand the importance of lineage and the rights of a child, but since this may be our only chance to experience carrying and giving birth to a child, we would like to know if it is allowed for us to pursue this option.
We would be deeply grateful for your guidance in this matter.
