We as muslims are always told of how serious crime shirk is, and Allah will won’t be forgiving this sin on the day of resurection. Then why is that Allah himself ordered angels to prostrate adam after he blows the soul in him.

A sufi friend claims it was because it was’t just a soul, instead it was Allah himself. Kindly answer my question keeping my friend’s claim in mind.

There is no evidence of wahdatul wajood concept in Quran o Sunnah.
Kindly watch explanation of Verse 2:34 in following video

First of all, prostration does not always mean shirk. Prostration of respect is mentioned in the Quran in the story of Yusuf AH as well (Quran verse 12:100).

Secondly, the source of all directives for us is God. He can lift any restrictions at any time. For example, alcohol is prohibited to us in this world, but Quran tells us that wine will be made available to the inhabitants of the paradise (Quran verse 47:15).

Lastly, the story of Adam and Iblees is stated in the Quran very clearly and all the characters in that story (God, Adam, Eve, Angels, Iblees) are very distinct. There’s no reason to come up with speculative ideas and end up inadvertently corrupting the word of God.

Prostration alone does not mean Shirk — a belief in an authority that is considered either equal to or higher than God constitutes Shirk.
