Quran 3:26 – Shahdah-Alan-Nas And Badshahi
( اِن کا عہد تمام ہوا،اِ س لیے اب ) تم دعا کرو کہ اے اللہ، بادشاہی کے مالک، توجس کو چاہے، بادشاہی دے اور جس سے چاہے، یہ بادشاہی چھین لے؛ اور جس کوچاہے، عزت دے اورجس کو چاہے،ذلیل کردے۔ تمام خیر تیرے ہی اختیار میں ہے۔ بے شک توہرچیز پر قدرت رکھتا [796] ہے۔ (ہم جانتے ہیں کہ )تو رات کودن میں اور دن کو رات میں پروتا ہوا لے آتا ہے اور (جانتے ہیں کہ ) تو مردے سے زندہ کو اور زندہ سے مردے کو نکالتا ہے [797] اورجس کو چاہتا ہے، بے حساب روزی عطا فرماتا [798] ہ
What does badshahi mean here? And is the next sentence an explanation of the previous one : (By bestowing badshahi He honours, and the taking away of it , means dishonour?)

And what is the difference between the word ‘mulk’ and ‘khalifa’. Both are conveying the meaning of authority?

Ghamidi sb has written in his tafsir that it means that, The status of being witness of oneness of God is tken from Bani Israel and given to Bani ismael. Here Badshai refer to that.

یہ بظاہر ایک دعا ہے، لیکن غور کیجیے تو اِس میں بنی اسمٰعیل کے لیے ایک عظیم بشارت چھپی ہوئی ہے، اِس لیے کہ یہ دعا صاف اشارہ کررہی ہے کہ تمام خیر کے مالک، پروردگار عالم نے فیصلہ کرلیا ہے کہ دنیا کی بادشاہی بنی اسمٰعیل کو دے دی جائے گی اوربنی اسرائیل کی کوئی مخالفت بھی اِس فیصلے کو تبدیل نہ کرسکے گی۔ اُن کے لیے ذلت ہی ذلت ہے ۔چنانچہ وہ اِس دنیا میں اب اگر رہیں گے تو بنی اسمٰعیل کے محکوم ہو کر رہیں گے، اِس کے سوا جینے کی کوئی دوسری صورت اُن کے لیے باقی نہیں رہی۔ پھر یہی نہیں، اِس بشارت کے ساتھ ایک عظیم نصیحت بھی اِس میں پوشیدہ ہے کہ بنی اسمٰعیل اِس بادشاہی کواپنے استحقاق کا کرشمہ سمجھ کر فخرو غرور کے ساتھ قبول نہ کریں، بلکہ تواضع، فروتنی اور احساس عبدیت کے ساتھ قبول کریں، اِس لیے کہ تمام خیر اللہ ہی کے ہاتھ میں ہے، اوریہ محض اُس کی عنایت ہے کہ اُس نے دنیا کی سب قوموں میں اِس کا سزاواراُنھیں قرار دیا ہے۔ -
Khalifa can be translated as person who inherits the role and ability of a person.

If shahadat alan naas is referred to as بادشاہی , then individually we all are to testify that there is no God but Him. Will the word بادشاہی refer to every human being?

It will refer to muslims to bear witness against whole humanity on the oneness of God

What about the word بادشاہی؟
Will it apply to each individual who beats witness on the oneness of God?

I think the ayah is just talking about power and authority.

Shahdah-Alan-Nas and Badshahi are not synonymous. Badshahi is the result of fulfilling the duty of Shahdah-Alan-Nas in its letter and spirit. It doesn’t apply to every individual, this rank of Shahdah was last given to Bani-Ismael. We are part of it by association, not as a primary addressee.

Promise is only for the children of Abraham. Bani Israel were dismissed and now it goes to Bani Ishmael.

کیا یہ (بنی اسرائیل) لوگوں (بنی اسماعئل) سے اللہ کی اُس عنایت پر حسد کر رہے ہیں جو اُس نے اُن پر کی ہے؟ یہی بات ہے تو سن لیں کہ ہم نے تو اولاد ابراہیم (کی اِس شاخ) کو اپنی شریعت اور اپنی حکمت بخش دی اور اُنھیں ایک عظیم بادشاہی عطا فرما دی ہے۔
(سورۃ النساء، 54)

Can بادشاہی that results from the giving of کتاب و حکمت also be taken in the metaphorical sense? Because what بادشاہی did Isa (as) have?
بادشاہی in the metaphorical sense can also be applied to all who adhere to کتاب و حکمت in the sense that they are able to experience how Allah rules by being able to see the wisdom behind all laws. And thus their will is always aligned with Allah’s will and this is the success in this world and the hereafter مُّلۡكًا عَظِيۡمًا) ) Is this understanding correct sir?

The language itself determines whether an expression is used as metaphor or not. In this verse there is no such context to claim that this is metaphor. This is about establishment a great empire, which actually happened.
