Effect Of Etiquettes On Salah
Asalamualaikum,
Do etiquettes of prayer have any effect on the validity of prayer? Or does this depend on the etiquette in question?
For example, in this thread (Discussion 51595) it is stated that coming to the mosque after having eaten onion and garlic “in no way means that person’s salah will not be accepted”. In this case, it seems as though etiquettes have no bearing on the validity of prayer whatsoever.
However, in this thread (Discussion 31359) on namaz attire, the wording seems more cautious with regards to the validity of prayer when etiquettes are not being followed: “but if at some point, because of certain conditions, whether social or otherwise, any of these requirements cannot be fulfilled despite the person trying his/her best, then Insha’Allah Salah will be accepted.”
How can I reconcile both statements? Are there some etiquettes that are moreso encouraged than others to the point that they can have a bearing on the validity of prayer?
Please let me know if I’ve misunderstood!
JazakAllah!
