Anything which is not included in the contents of Deen like prayer, fasting, and is a secular thing like music, we call it halal or haram on the basis of its being ethical or not unethical, moral or immoral in terms of its content and its use. If they are not unethical, have no content of Shirk or indecency, they are not haram.
