  • Is Learning About Islamic History ( As In The Deepest Details ) Necessary?

Posted by Haniya on March 28, 2022 at 7:06 pm

There is a lot that went on throughout the history of Islam.

However, there are certain aspects/topics that, even though are perfectly acceptable in the standards of our religion, can cause people to feel uncomfortable ( discluding teachings of 5 pillars, basis of Islam, etc. )

There are countless accounts of people I’ve encountered, wishing they never dove deep into an aspect/ part of history, because they have no way of knowing it is right or wrong, and because they are in this state, they worry about the concept.

Is it permissible to be safe than sorry, on these sorts of situations?

As Ghamidi Sb often says ‘The only source of Deen (Islam) is Prophet Muhammad (P.B.U.H), we got the Quran through him and the sunnah, and that is the COMPLETE deen (Islam).’

As far as history is concerned then it depends on the person, I don’t think he should feel the urgency or fear of missing out on some knowledge about deen as it has been completed in the Quran and Sunnah.
