    Asselamu aleykum,

Narrated Abdullah Ibn Umar (ra), The Prophet (sav) saw a boy with part of his head shaved and a part left unshaven. He forbade them to do that, saying; “Shave it all or leave it all.” (Abu Dawood 4195)

It seems that from this hadith that even Military cuts or burger cuts, would be forbidden. Does prophet opposed indecency, or explicitly prohibited these types of haircuts.

    Kindly clarify.

Hadith cannot render anything haram unless it comes under the broad categories of forbidden things in Quran and sunnah.

Principles of understanding hadith can be read here. Discussion 56230

Reading one hadith on a topic is not a good idea to drive conclusions as that hadith may lack context and background and details. Here is another hadith which give detailed account of hadith https://sunnah.com/bukhari:5920

From this hadith its evident that soldier cut or burger cut is not included. Though specfic reason is still missing.

Generally these kind of advise was given to avoide pride and religious symbols or imitating kuffars. Sometimes prophet saw advised according to his personal liking too.

Hence, any haircut which causes pride or just to imitate a kafir, it will not be allowed. Following liking of Prophet saw is much appreciated but cannot be considered haram
