    My q is ;

    Would it be halal to consume or take iberogast ; it’s a herbal medicine or supplement that aids in digestion and can or may relieve symtomps of digestive issues. But it contains 31 % ethanol ( alcohol).

    Now I’m aware that God forbade us consuming alcohol in order we don’t get drunk and do unethical stuff.

    But the amount in this supplement in total is 31% and if hyou take it by drops then it may be lower.

    Would this be halal to consume for digestive aid?

    Thank you

    If alcohol is used merely as a preservative or a solvent, then there is no issue in consuming such medicine. However, if alcohol is an active ingredient in the medicine then it should not be consumed. You can research further on the medicine and decide accordingly.

      Would the following text make this medicine consume halal?

      Alcohol is a necessary ingredient in some liquid herbal medicines, including Iberogast®, because it helps extract and dissolve the herbal components. The alcohol content of 31 vol. -% in Iberogast® may seem high at first sight, however, the actually consumed amount of alcohol is very small.

      It is mentioned on the official site that Alcohol in Iberogast is used both as a solvent and a preservative therefore, it is ok to consume this medicine.

      Alcohol is a necessary ingredient in some liquid herbal medicines, including Iberogast® IBS + Digestive Relief, because it helps extract and dissolve the herbal components. The alcohol in Iberogast® IBS + Digestive Relief also works as a preservative.

      A single adult dose of Iberogast® IBS + Digestive Relief (20 drops) contains only a small amount of alcohol, just 0.24g. By comparison, many everyday foods and drinks contain small amounts of alcohol which are higher volumes than in an adult dose of Iberogast® IBS + Digestive Relief. For example, an average glass of apple juice contains 0.3–0.7 g and an average slice of rye bread contains 0.3–0.4 g.
