    Asselamu aleykum,

Is one’s ghusl valid if the water did not reached the skin and the mouth, due to the oral thrush, oil (on the head), or the naturally oily skin?

    Kindly clarify.

Spelling mistakes:- I’ve mistaken thrush with thrust, there.

Only apparent body parts need to be washed with water both during wudu and Ghusl and water reaching the pores of the skin is not necessary. However, Ghusl needs to be done in a thorough and complete manner (see: Discussion 81817 • Reply 81845) and water should reach whole body (apparent body). If something external on the body is genuinely water resistant and it is certain that the body will stay dry (e.g. doing ghusl over shorts which are water resistant) in that case dry portions of the body need to be washed thoroughly as well. But creams, lotions, oils and makeup etc. are not water resistant in that sense.
